One of the biggest achievements of our academies is creating real pathways for young Australian players to Villarreal CF in Spain.
Right now, we are proud to announce that 9 of our players from Villarreal Sydney are part of Villarreal CF’s elite Player Development Program (PDP) in Spain.
What is the PDP?
The Player Development Program (PDP) is an exclusive pathway created by Villarreal CF. It allows talented players from Villarreal Academies around the world to train every week in Spain, under the same methodology, coaches, and facilities as Villarreal’s own youth academy.
Players are integrated into the daily life of Villarreal CF:

Training sessions designed by academy and first-team coaches.

Regular matches and internal competitions.

Continuous monitoring and feedback to support their development.
This is the bridge between our academies abroad and the professional environment in Villarreal CF.
From the Academy to the First Team
The pathway is real. Many players who started in Villarreal’s academy are now established in the first team of Villarreal CF, competing at the highest level in LaLiga and Europe:
