Diego Palacios began his journey with Villarreal Sydney Academy at the very first clinic ever held in Sydney, showing from an early age the talent and mentality needed to compete at the highest level.

After 2 years in the Academy, Diego made the move to Spain to continue his development within the Villarreal PDP International Program. Over the next 3 years, through sacrifice, hard work and consistency, he continued progressing within the Villarreal CF pathway.

His commitment and performances earned him a historic opportunity, becoming the first player from Villarreal Sydney to officially sign and obtain a license to compete for Villarreal CF.

Diego is now living in Spain and competing with the Villarreal CF U19, continuing to grow in one of Europe’s top football environments.

He has also recently been selected to represent Villarreal CF at the TST Tournament 2026 in the United States, another important step in his promising career.
